In particular, Perrelet was impressed by the power of the propulsion of aeroplanes, produced by the gas turbine, a rotating mechanism that uses the force of the air. Inspired by the ingenious device, Perrelet has developed a double rotor, the key element of its new Turbine collection.
The new Perrelet Turbine watches are animated by the Perrelet P-181 automatic Double Rotor movement. The movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and gives an advantage of 42 hours of power reserve.
The double rotor was transformed into a turbine that incorporates 12 titanium blades. The rotor occupies the entire dial and is found beneath an interior raised part in black, demonstrating luminous numerals. The luminous markers on the under dial enhance the optical effect.
The concave-shaped case, 44mm in diameter, accommodates the turbine, as a perfect reflection of the original look of the reactor. The crown is specially worked and integrated in the case. It is fitted with a latch – when it is open, it allows to wind and reset the watch. The case is crafted in plain titanium, titanium provided with DLC-treatment or in 18K pink gold.
The sapphire crystal case back gives watch connoisseurs a perfect chance to admire the beauty of the movement with its black lacquered angled and polished bridges. The design of the oscillating weight, showing the same exclusive finishing, has also been inspired by the field of aeronautics.
The new Perrelet Turbine watches, reviewed by Watches.InfoNIAC.com, are coupled with an extremely comfortable black rubber strap fitted with a folding clasp.
