Apr 03, 2008
Connoisseurs of precision timekeeping and Breitling fans in particular will be delighted to discover two Breitling novelties to be soon unveiled at Baselworld 2008 - Breitling Bentley GMT and Breitling Chronomatic 49. Both timepieces hold some surprise as for their design and technical characteristics.

The Breitling Bentley GMT is created to embody the energy and spirit of traveling.

The timepiece offers supreme functionality, encompassing a variety of useful functions - hours, minutes, small seconds, date, chronograph and 24-hour second time zone. It is equipped with an automatic movement - Breitling 47B caliber. The 38-jewel movement, beating at 28,000 vibrations per hour, guarantees the precision of a COSC-certified chronometer.

The eye-catching red-triangle hand moves round the dial of the Breitling Bentley GMT once every 24 hours, while the rotating flange featuring the names of 24 cities standing for the 24 time zones indicates the times around the world.

The chronograph central hand moves round the dial every 30 seconds instead of the common 60 to provide more accurate reading - this innovative feature may be perceived as an invitation to travel or break new personal records.

The 18K red gold or steel case of the Breitling Bentley GMT measures 49 mm in diameter. The construction of the case has incorporated the ratcheted rotating bezel and convex sapphire crystal provided with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. It is 100-meter water-resistant.

The new Breitling watch will be available with black, silvered or bronze dial. The dial is completed with 6-hour, 15-minute and 60-seconds counters placed at 6, 9 and 3 o'clock respectively, while the date window is found at 6 o'clock.

The timepiece is coupled with a GMT rubber strap or a metallic Speed bracelet.

The Breitling Bentley GMT will give its owner the feeling he is wearing the entire world on his wrist.

The Breitling Chronomatic 49 pays tribute to the legendary era of pioneering watchmaking. You are probably aware Breitling was destined to become the first company to have invented the first self-winding chronograph movement back in 1969. In 2008, Breitling revives one of its most fabulous models that influenced the entire history of Swiss watchmaking.

The 2008 version of the Breitling legendary Chrono-Matic 49 reveals angular, taut lines inspired by the generous size and sixties-seventies look of the original model. The watch is equipped with an automatic movement - Breitling 14 calibre, crowned by the prestigious COSC-chronometer certification. The 40-jewel mechanism beats at 28,000 vibrations per hour.

The Breitling watch provides the following functions: hours, minutes, seconds, date, chronograph and slide rule.

The steel case of the timepiece, 49 mm in diameter, has incorporated a rotating ratcheted bezel with circular slide rule, convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The construction is 30-meter water-resistant.

The black or bronze dial of the model is embellished with decorations created using resist method. You will notice the hour, minute and seconds counters located at 6, 9 and 3 o'clock respectively, and the date window at 6 o'clock.

The bold look of the Breitling Chronomatic 49 is completed with a Barenia leather, crocodile strap or Aero Classic woven steel bracelet.

The watch will be also available in a limited edition of 500 pieces in 5N 18K red gold.

The Breitling Chronomatic 49 is created for those eager to have a classic vintage timekeeping companion with a contemporary air, to provide most reliable timekeeping on land, on sea and in the skies.
