Issued in a limited series of just 300 pieces, the new IWC men’s watch pays tribute to the aerobatics team of the Patrouille Suisse - the Swiss Air Force. The watch catches attention with its grey technical design. The case is crafted from stainless steel. Its measurements are 42mm x 14.7mm.
The back side of the model is individually numbered and marked with the inscription “Tribute To Patrouille Suisse”. The water-resistance of the case is assured down to 60 meters. Its top is shielded by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
Beneath this glass there is an extremely readable dial. Equipped with contrasting Arabic numerals, it indicates central hours and minutes. The small seconds tick away in a counter at 9 o’clock. The chronograph functions are presented through a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour sub-dial, located at 12 and 6 o’clock respectively.
The display of the new IWC Montre d'Aviateur Chronographe Edition Patrouille Suisse watch also features a central chronograph seconds hand. It is finalized by a red air fighter, which is a respectful nod to the Northrop F-5E Tiger II of the Patrouille Suisse aerobatics team. The watch design is completed by day and date indications, revealed at 3 o’clock.
The functions are brought to life by the brand’s proprietary caliber 79320. Paved with 25 jewels, it runs at the rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and supplies a 44-hour power reserve.
The new IWC watch is accompanied by a black textile strap with grey stitching.
