Admire Montblanc Villeret 1858 Vintage Pulsographe Watch

Apr 29, 2011
Montblanc gladly offers its new Villeret 1858 Vintage Pulsographe watch - a happy union of appealing design and superior craftsmanship.

The new Montblanc watch comes packaged in a 39.5mm case, rendered in 18K red or white gold. On the front side, it is armed with a domed sapphire crystal. Its screwed back side is also fitted with sapphire glass.

At 3 o’clock, the model features an 18K gold crown, marked with a mother-of-pearl Montblanc emblem. The mono-pusher in red or white gold is found at 2 o’clock. The case is 30-meter water-resistant.

The new Montblanc Villeret 1858 Vintage Pulsographe watch is adorned with a genuine grand feu enamel dial. It is dressed in black for the red gold version and in white for the white gold interpretation.

Equipped with Arabic numerals, the display ensures central hours and minutes. The small seconds are indicated in a counter at 9 o’clock. The chronograph functions are ensured by a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and a central seconds hand. All the hands are made of gold for the red gold model and of blued stainless steel for the white gold version.

Featured on the extremity of the dial is a pulse scale, which enables the user to measure the pulse without calculating the number of pulsations per minute. All he needs to do when starting to feel the pulse is to activate the chronograph hand by pressing the mono-pusher and then to stop the chronograph when feeling the 30th pulsation. The number of pulsation can be read off from a chronograph hand, pointing to the number on the pulse scale.

Animating the functions is the brand’s proprietary hand-wound chronograph movement - calibre MB M13-21. It comprises 239 individual parts, including 22 hemispherical, domed and olive-cut jewels. The mechanism incorporates a rhodium-plated nickel silver plate with circular graining on both surfaces.

The bridges are also in rhodium-plated nickel silver, yet embellished with “Cotes de Geneve” decoration. The movement operates at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and offers a 60-hour power reserve.

The new Montblanc watch is accompanied by a hand-sewn alligator leather strap, which joins to an 18K red or white gold buckle. Its issue is limited to 58 pieces per each version.
