The Monaco YS has been created as a tribute to Ulysse Nardin history closely related to the vast open seas since 1846. In addition, this year the company is for the first time taking part at the most prestigious Monaco Yacht Show.
The stainless steel case of the Ulysse Nardin Monaco YS watch, 42.7 mm in diameter, is black DLC (diamond-like-carbon) treated and hardened to guarantee perfect scratch-resistance to the black surface.
The black dial of the watch is embellished with a wave pattern and completed with dark grey applied luminous indexes. The sub-dials are accentuated by red hands. The skeleton hour and minute hands are provided with dark grey luminous material that glows even in total darkness. The dial is shielded by anti reflective sapphire crystal.
The black unidirectional rotating bezel, also adorned with a wave pattern and with an 18K rose gold insert, demonstrates a diving scale. The watch case is coupled with a rubber strap fitted with ceramic elements and an exclusive black ceramic folding clasp.
The sapphire crystal case-back allows watch connoisseurs to admire the mechanical movement with the black winding rotor. The movement gives an advantage of a 42-hour power-reserve.
The Caliber UN-26 automatic movement animates a power reserve indicator, the date and small seconds in a big-sized sub-dial. The timepiece is 200-meter water-resistant. Each case has an individual number.
As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, the Ulysse Nardin Monaco YS watch will be available in a limited edition of 100 pieces.
