Corum to Unveil Miss Golden Bridge Lady's Watch

Feb 12, 2010
A massive hit with ardent watch lovers and collectors, the superb Golden Bridge watch from Corum is expected to be joined by a new alluring interpretation, reserved especially for women. Bestowed with the appropriate name of "Miss Golden Bridge", the new Corum watch is characterized by inimitable elegance and flawless craftsmanship, the features inherent to the brands conventional design.

Setting the ladys watch apart from its famous predecessor is its particularly slim tonneau-shaped 18K gold case, smaller in size. The watch case is armed with sapphire crystals not only on its front and back, but also on the sides in order to provide a stunning panoramic vision of the acclaimed Corum baton caliber, beating at the heart of the watch.

Since the countless interpretations of the Corum Bridge watch have always been hugely popular with ladies, it is absolutely predictable that the new Corum ladys watch will appeal even to wider audience.

The distinctive flair of the novel Corum watch is the way the case and the strap are connected. Unlike its established siblings, outfitted with evident lugs, holding the strap, the Miss Golden Bridge watch is distinguished by its concealed design: the gold case and a fine alligator leather strap produce an incredible effect of a single whole. Similar to all Golden Bridge watch, this marvel is equipped with a winding crown, located at 6 oclock within a protective recess.

The heart of the Corum lady's watch is the baguette-shaped C0113 movement with its intricate workings. It represents a system of diminutive wheels and pinions, which serves to deliver the energy to the mainspring, animating the escapement and the balance wheel. Supplied with energy, these components pulsate at the upper part of the generously engraved bridge. Traditionally, the emblematic vertical baton bridge is entirely manufactured from gold. It features a hand-made engraving, which turns the model into a true piece of art. Composed of 140 individual parts, this movement offers a 40-hour power reserve.

Since the production of the Miss Golden Bridge watch is extremely labor-intensive, Corum will release only 333 pieces per year. As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, along with the watchs interpretations sculptured in polished red or white gold, there will also be available an haute joaillerie version. The latter comes with a case of new dimensions, embellished with 90 round brilliant diamonds.

The timepiece will be presented at Baselworld 2010.
