Milus Tirion TriRetrograde Seconds Skeleton 1919 Watch

Apr 23, 2009
The Milus Tirion TriRetrograde Seconds Skeleton 1919 watch has been created as a tribute to the foundation year of the brand. The timepiece, limited to just 38 pieces, reflects the best Milus design traditions.

As found out, the name Tirion is a derivation from the constellation of Orion, which is no doubt found among the most recognizable and brightest constellations in the heaven.

The case of the Tirion TriRetrograde Seconds Skeleton 1919 watch is crafted from 18K red gold 6N, the gold tone that was popular at the beginning of the 20-th century.

The nine-part case measures 45mm in diameter. The face of the watch is shielded by a curved, oval sapphire crystal. The sanitized case-back is screwed down with 6 screws.

The Milus Tirion watch accommodates a Swiss quality mechanical movement in an exclusive special version module MILUS 3838 automatic with retrograde seconds. The retrograde seconds complication is the zest of the timepiece. It is presented via three sectors of 20 seconds each.

The unique dial of the Milus watch incorporates two layers. The first layer represents the movement plate featuring a sun-stamped decoration. The second level is built from an off-white dial plate completed with blued Arabic numerals. The large date display is located at 6 o'clock.

The three seconds display sectors fascinate the eye due to their original design: skeleton hours and minute hands permanently allow to see the three blued seconds hands jumping back in 20-second rhythm. The hands are partially coated with white SuperLuminova for perfect readability.

The three seconds hands seem to be performing some magic dance. The first seconds hand, featured at 6 oclock, jumps instantly back to its starting position after 20 seconds. It is followed by the next seconds hand at 10 oclock and, then, by the third seconds hand at 2 oclock that perform the same task.

The case back of the timepiece
has a round convex sapphire crystal window revealing the movement and the skeleton oscillating rotor shaped as the Milus logo with the brand symbol right at its centre.

The Milus Tirion TriRetrograde Seconds Skeleton 1919 watch is secured to the wrist on a comfortable dark brown alligator-leather strap. It is fitted with a buckle or folding clasp in 18K gold.

The timepiece is 30-meter water-resistant.
