Meet McGonigle Tuscar Red Gold Watch

Jun 28, 2011
The timepiece maker McGonigle is happy to unveil its new Tuscar Red Gold watch, issued in a limited edition of 20 pieces.

The new McGonigle watch has adopted a 42.5mm case, rendered in 22k 5N red gold. It features a top glass, coated with anti-reflective treatment. The same substance is applied to the display back. The water-resistance of the case is assured down to 30 meters.

Ticking inside the model is a hand-wound mechanical McG01 movement, developed in collaboration with Alberto Papi - one of the famous Swiss design constructors. Its architecture includes a free sprung balance spring with Breguet overcoil as well as a gold escape wheel, which functions without oil.

Adorned with 31 jewels, the mechanism runs at the rate of 18,000 vibrations per hour. It also incorporates double mainspring barrels, which work in parallel to deliver a 90-hour power reserve.

The fascinating details of the caliber can be admired on an open-worked dial. The face of the new McGonigle Tuscar Red Gold watch is completed with flame-blued hand-polished steel and hand-polished gold hands. They indicate hours, minutes and seconds.

The new McGonigle watch is presented on a black hand-stitched alligator leather strap. It is finalized by a hand-engraved 22k red gold folding buckle.
