Victorinox Swiss Army Presents Maverick GS Watches

Aug 12, 2010
The now-emblematic Maverick sports collection from the acclaimed watchmaker Victorinox Swiss Army experienced its world premiere in 2004. This year, the brand’s creative minds came up with the brilliant idea of redesigning the line.

Outfitted with top quality quartz movements, the new Maverick GS "Grand Sport" watches have been released in three different interpretations: chronograph, dual time (GMT) and three-hand.

The Victorinox chronograph watch displays hours, minutes and small seconds. Additionally, it provides a stopwatch function as well as that of date, arranged at 6 o’clock. The chronograph is precise to 1/10th of a second.

The dual time (GMT) watch reveals a second time zone sub-dial, located at 6 o’clock. A true horological accomplishment, the dial allows simultaneous reading of both time zones. Taking care of hours and minutes are central hands as well as those moving around the counter of the second time-zone. The date indication is offered in a large exhibition window, nestled at 12 o’clock.

The functionality of the three-hand watch includes hours, minutes and seconds, complimented by the date indication.

Each new Victorinox Swiss Army watch is available with a 43 mm case, sculptured in surgical stainless steel. It is fitted with a screw-down crown. The company’s qualified craftsmen have also equipped the watches with a screw-in solid steel case-back. Every timepiece presented handles depths of up to 100 meters.

The case is offset by a unidirectional bezel, rotating with a 60-minute count-up scale. Dressed in red or black, the imposing bezel is treated with polished lacquer, which makes it extremely well protected against potential scratches.

Reinterpreted in a new way, the dial has acquired extra depth. The perfect legibility of the Chrono model has been achieved with help of the chronograph hand colors, introduced into the watch design.

The absolute precision of the chronograph is guaranteed by a Swiss-made quartz movement - ETA 251.272. The dual time watch, meanwhile, is animated by a Swiss-made quartz Ronda movement -6203.B.

Completing the impeccable look of the new Victorinox Swiss Army Maverick GS watches is either an integrated stainless steel bracelet or a genuine rubber strap that provide a smooth and comfortable feel.
