To mark its partnership with the
5th annual Zurich Film Festival, the Swiss watch manufacturer
Maurice Lacroix has introduced its novel limited series
Pontos watch.
This model is restricted to just 20 individual pieces. The watch, featuring a
43 mm stainless steel case, exposes a small seconds counter with the inscription
"Zurich Film Festival". Animating this timepiece’s functions is a
manual-winding movement.
In the course of the festival a number of these exceptional Pontos watches will be presented to its participants: one piece will be awarded to the director of a film, winning the
"Audience Award", and others will be bestowed on the directors of the Best International Documentary, the Best German-Language Feature Film, and Best International Feature Film. The luckiest voting member of the audience will also be granted an exclusive opportunity of getting the
Maurice Lacroix Zurich Film Festival Pontos watch.
The Maurice Lacroix watch company treasures the possibility of its official partnership with the Zurich Film Festival. According to
Martin Bachmann, CEO of Maurice Lacroix, the best imaginable witnesses to time, films tell stories and vividly present events. Besides, nowhere is the focus on strong emotions clearer than in a film. It reflects the values -time and emotions- the brand is continuously promoting.
The
2009 Zurich Film Festival will take place within the period from September 24th through October 4th. The event will heartily welcome a lot of distinguished guests, including renowned directors and thespians, such as
Roman Polanski. The latter will be bestowed with a
"Golden Eye" prize for his great accomplishments as a director.
Within the framework of the Festival the audience will enjoy more than 50 films of different genres: from Hollywood pop culture to obscure avant-garde.

Maurice Lacroix has created a new technically and aesthetically advanced timepiece -
Masterpiece Lune Retrograde ML152. The watch has an oversized case, 46 mm in diameter, and is animated by the new
Manufacture ML 152 movement.
The high-tech, skeletonized dial is shielded by a domed sapphire crystal, with anti-reflective coating on both sides.
The dial features
two perfectly symmetrical displays - the power reserve and retrograde date displays positioned at 2 and 10 o’clock respectively. The skeletonized arcs of the displays create a kind of industrial look of the dial, with no additional decor used. Each hand slides beneath one of the hollowed-out arcs. The hours and minutes are indicated by the hands in the center.

Justin Rose and Maurice Lacroix entered into a
three-year contract over a close cooperation with the possibility to be extended for two more years.
Their mutual appreciation and joint efforts are aimed at giving birth to some creative international projects.
According to CEO Martin Bachmann, Justin Rose is the best imaginable ambassador for their company. The
Maurice Lacroix watches are intended for strong, outstanding personalities – authentic people, who really know what they want out of life and interested not only in social status.
This precisely describes Justin Rose, a true embodiment of Maurice Lacroix’s spirit. The company’s authenticity credo is reflected in manufacturing unique products, wspirithich true value is not in their looks only.
Justin Rose, born on July 30, 1980, prefers the best quality, reliable things, because if he decides on something, he wants to have it in his life as long as possible. As to the watch, he equally values its look and function. Wearing a kind of bling on the wrist is not his style.
Justin Rose started his
dazzling career of a golfer at the age of 17, the following day after he had holed a 40 meter pitch shot for a birdie on his final hole at the 1998 British Open at Royal Birkdale. He took up the 4th place then.
Now Justin Rose is considered to be one of the best golf players in Europe with a number 6 career in the world rankings. In 2007 he became the winner of the European Tour Order of Merit and that of Volvo Masters in Valderama.
In 2008, it was his first time to play for the European Ryder Cup team, where he secured a strong victory over Phil Mickelson in the singles.

The
Memoire 1 recently given birth in the
'Atelier de Maurice Lacroix' has incorporated a remarkable number of world firsts. Above all, the Maurice Lacroix creation is destined to become the first timepiece providing a mechanical memory function.
The Memoire 1 is able to show elapsed time while 'remembering' the current time. One touch of a button makes the watch use the same two hands and the disc for showing the current time while 'memorizing' the elapsed time recorded by its chronograph. The memory function is a groundbreaking development as this new mechanical complication has never been developed before.
