Maitres du Temps Presents Its Chapter Two Watch
After creating the magnificent and technically innovative Chapter One watch in 2008, the new high-end luxury watchmaking house of Maitres du Temps kept many watch enthusiasts and collectors excited about upcoming surprises Chapter Two would offer.

At Baselworld 2009, Maitres du Temps unveiled Chapter Two, which proved to be a more restrained, but just as a spectacular model, revealing its own technical secrets.

Similar to its more complex predecessor, the second “Chapter” has been evolved as a result of the world famous watchmakers’ close collaboration. It features the signature complex tonneau-shaped case tempered with exclusive roller calendar indications.

With the dimensions of 45mm x 32mm and nine millimeters in overall height, the complex tonneau case sculptured in 18-karat red gold, immediately identifies the Chapter Two model as a product of Maitres du Temps.

Composed of 30 individual parts, the case features six sapphire crystals, with an octagonal one intended for the case-back display among them, as well as elongated rectangular pieces on both sides meant for the roller calendar indications.

A charming layout of compound-curve surfaces coupled with alternating satin and polished sections are an eloquent evidence of the huge efforts involved in the watch’s manufacturing. The same can be referred to the curved dial.

Made of silver, the dial demonstrates a circular grained satin peripheral area for numerals and a gorgeous engine-turned "sunray" guilloche pattern located at the center. Equally complex and harmonious design of the dial is complimented by faceted sword-shaped hands performed in polished red gold.

The Chapter Two also demonstrates an impressive extent of watchmaking refinement. The most remarkable in this regard are the cylindrical rolling calendar indications for the month and the day. They can be visible through their own sapphire crystals, located above and below the dial itself. They function together with the instantly switching large date indicator to provide a clear and technically innovative version of the iconic triple calendar complication.

The date is set by means of a very discreet pusher, located directly above the winding crown.

The back side of the Chapter Two timepiece presents many other surprises with delicately integrated and supremely intuitive corrector buttons for the day and month rollers among them.

The model is animated by the SHC01 automatic movement. Demonstrating hand-embellished bridges with a spectacular sunray Cotes de Geneve pattern, along with chamfered edges, SHC01 embraces 382 individual parts and it is set with 32 jewels. The movement features a balance wheel moving back and forth at 28,800 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of 50 hours.

The Chapter Two is also distinguished by the richly etched 22K gold goblet-shaped winding rotor, which adds to the watch’s sophisticated beauty and symbolism.

Now, the official website of Maitres du Temps invites all watch connoisseurs to watch the company's first corporate film, 'Maitres du Temps Chapter One'. The film narrates about the development of the Maitres du Temps first luxury watch, Chapter One, unveiled globally last April in Geneva.
