The Panerai Luminor Marina PAM 366 “Fu” China watch marks the fifth year since the brand’s watches first appeared on the market of China. Pleased with the significant growth of the Chinese market, Panerai highly respects the Chinese culture. The new timepiece is devoted to traditional Chinese culture and pays homage to the brand’s Chinese customers.
The zest of the special edition Panerai watch is the character "Fu", the Chinese sign for "Good Fortune", found at 6 o'clock, having replaced the original numeral of the typical dial featured by Panerai watches.
The watch demonstrates a 44mm Luminor Marina case sculptured from polished and brushed stainless steel. The 300-meter water-resistant timepiece goes on the brand’s personalized black calf strap featuring ecru stitching and fitted with a polished steel buckle.
The heart of the new Panerai watch is the brand’s exclusive hand-wound mechanical movement - OP II Calibre. The 17-jewel movement, beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, provides a 56-hour power-reserve. The movement guarantees precision of the COSC-certified chronometer.
The Chinese character "Fu" is interpreted in ancient Chinese writings in five aspects: longevity, health, prosperity, virtue and a well-ended life. You can often see decorations of "Fu", usually written on red paper, on door fronts of Chinese people – this tradition has been maintained since the time of Southern Sung Dynasty. Some people believe that the character speaks of their best wishes, while for others it serves as an expression of the pursuit of happiness. As time goes by, the meaning of the Chinese character is further extended and expanded.
The Panerai Luminor Marina PAM 366 “Fu” China watch nicely blends Chinese tradition elements and Italian classic design. Officine Panerai believes it will become a valuable blessing for its wearer.
