Officine Panerai introduces its bestseller model, the Luminor Marina, in a completely new size. The case of the novelty measures 42 mm. The Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic watch has been created in two variations - the sportier one rendered in steel, and the more elegant one crafted in red gold.

The case of the new Luminor watch has maintained the classic characteristics of the model. It incorporates the signature bridge with the locking lever to guarantee the proper degree of water-resistance, down to 100 meters, and protect the crown from accidental shocks.

The crown allows most comfortable hour and date setting. The hour hand is rotated in one-hour steps in both directions, and the date is adjusted correspondingly, with no interruption of the running of the timepiece.

The dial has the sandwich construction introduced by the brand in the 1930s. It provides supreme legibility even in the lowest lighting conditions. It incorporates two superimposed discs with a layer of Super-LumiNova shining through cut-outs of the upper disc. The cut-outs serve as hour-markers and numerals.

The steel version demonstrates a black dial and is presented on a black alligator strap, while the red gold version features a brown dial and strap that nicely match the special ecru-colored Super-LumiNova. Both models have a see-through sapphire crystal case-back.

The steel and red gold used for the new Panerai models are worth special attention. The first material is AISI 316L stainless steel. This alloy is characterized by low carbon content and boasts high level of corrosion-resistance. The red gold material is 5Npt that represents a special alloy with a very high percentage of copper, adding more depth to the color. It also contains 0.4% platinum to prevent any oxidation of the metal.

The heart of the new Panerai Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic watch an in-house automatic movement - P.9000 calibre. The mechanism provides a 3-day power reserve. The 28-jewel movement is oscillating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
