Meet Panerai Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic Composite 44 mm Watch

The new Panerai watch demonstrates the signature Luminor 1950 case sculptured in Panerai Composite and accommodating the automatic Panerai P.9000 movement.

The 44 mm case and the protective bridge over the winding crown are sculptured in Panerai Composite, the material that represents synthetic ceramic and applied in watchmaking for the first time by the brand. To create the material, the brand’s specialists used a electro-chemical process that involved the transformation of aluminum. Panerai Composite boasts unique properties - it is considerably lighter than ceramic, yet much harder and more resistant than steel. The material is matt and immediately distinctive in appearance.

The sandwich construction of the classic Panerai dial incorporates two superimposed layers with the use of the Super-LumiNova to come up with the fluorescent numerals and hour markers. The dial guarantees supreme legibility even in no-light conditions. The sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating protects the dial.

The smoked sapphire crystal case-back allows to drop a glance at the P.9000 automatic movement. It has been designed and constructed independently within the Officine Panerai manufacture located at Neuchatel. The 197-component 28-jewel movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, fitted with Incabloc anti-shock device, offers a date function, small seconds featured at 9 o’clock and a 3-day power reserve, provided by two spring barrels linked in series, with an oscillating rotor winding the springs in both directions.

The new Panerai watch is 300-meter water-resistant. It is secured to the wrist on an antiqued brown leather strap fitted with a big-sized Composite buckle of the same shade.
