The Longines Sport Collection Expended by New Models in 2009

The Longines Sport Collection has been joined by new elegant models.

The Longines Admiral collection, introduced in 2008, comprises elegant timepieces offering supreme performance. Watches from the collection are highly demanded among globetrotters and adventure-lovers. This year, the collection has been expended by three new timekeeping creations.

The new Longines Admiral 24h Ceramic Automatic watch features a robust yet elegant stainless steel case, 42 mm in diameter, fitted with a ceramic bezel in black or grey shade.

The watch demonstrates a 24-hour scale on the bezel and a second time-zone indicated by the additional central hand. It is equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement.

The black or grey dial of the Longines sport watch is reliably protected by anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The oversized “12” Arabic numeral on the dial is the distinctive feature of the Longines sport collections. The glance is caught by the bright red Superluminova 24-hour hand. The date function is presented via a tiny window at 3 o’clock.

The watch is couples with a stainless steel bracelet that comprises central links crafted in black or grey ceramic to match the bezel. The braclet is fitted with a triple safety folding clasp. The timepiece is 100-meter water-resistant.

The new Longines Admiral 24h Ceramic Chronograph watch features a ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale.

The case of the watch incorporates a screw-in back cover. The crown and the push-pieces are provided with lateral protection.

The chronograph watch accommodates a self-winding mechanical movement. The black or grey dial features a date aperture at 6 o’clock, while the 30-minute counter is found at 3 o’clock and the small seconds counter at 9 o’clock. The dial also demonstrates the characteristic “large 12”.

Another new member of the Longines Admiral collection is the Admiral Chronograph 24h with second time zone watch, an accurate and robust timekeeping companion.

This model has been destined to become the first in the Longines family to accommodate the self-winding calibre L686. The beauty of the movement is unveiled through the transparent sapphire case back.

The chronograph function of the Longines watch is presented via a 30-minute counter positioned at 12 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock.

The watch has a black, anthracite or silvered dial completed with the distinctive “large 12”, eight applied hour markers and 24-hour scale in Arabic numerals. The timepiece goes on a steel bracelet or a black or brown alligator leather strap, fitted with a triple folding safety clasp.

The Longines GrandeVitesse line is created for those who love high speeds. The watches from the line demonstrate fluid lines, aerodynamic curves, remarkable typography and a double tachymeter. They are popular among daring sportsmen and drivers.

The new Longines GrandeVitesse Chronograph 24h watch is housed in an impressive stainless steel case, 44mm in diameter.

The timepiece is also equipped with the self-winding calibre L686 as the similar model from model the Admiral line. The case construction incorporates a black aluminum or brushed stainless steel bezel with a double tachymeter that is graduated in km/h and mph to be used for measuring speeds up to Mach 2.

The black, chocolate or silvery sunray dial, the same as the previous models, features a “large 12” Arabic numeral. The second 24-hour time zone is indicated with a red-tipped Superluminova hand.
