Waltham Lone Eagle - Distinctly Contemporary Feel

Aug 06, 2010
Famous for its longstanding ties with the adventurous early days of aviation, Waltham has delivered its new model, poetically named Lone Eagle.

The new Waltham watch has been created in the spirit of respect for time-honored values. At the same time, the brands craftsmen have used the benefits of the modern technology to lend this timepiece a distinctly contemporary feel.

Accurate timekeeping is ensured by a self-winding COSC-certified chronometer movement - Dubois Depraz 3142 calibre. It serves to display hours, minutes and seconds. The additional indications include chronograph with flyback function as well as second time zone.

The entire mechanism is incorporated into a steel case, measuring 45 mm in diameter. On the front side, it exposes a domed sapphire crystal, treated with anti-reflective coating. The back side of the watch is engraved with an eagle, the symbol of the brand.

The dial features a black center, a silvered counter and flange. The dial is equipped with Arabic numerals, treated with a luminous compound for perfect night-time readability. Gliding over them are propeller-shaped hands. The display also includes the chronograph small seconds sub-dial, located at 3 o'clock and the 30-minute counter, positioned at 9 o'clock. The date is displayed in the exhibition window at 6 o'clock. Just as well, the dial features the GMT time zone corrector.

The final touch is provided by a black buffalo strap, fitted with four rivets and a folding clasp.

The customers can also enjoy other versions of the Waltham Lone Eagle watch. The interpretation, adorned with a navy blue dial, comes with a matching strap. The one, equipped with a chocolate dial and a matching strap, has been released in limited series of 100 pieces.
