Feb 26, 2008
Louis Erard, a manufacturer of fine mechanical watches, has just celebrated the birth of its 50,000th timepiece since the company's re-launch in 2003. The brand, located in Les Franches-Montagnes, the Swiss Jura Mountains, is determined to maintain its dynamic approach towards watchmaking, having revealed the majestic Chrono 1931 and its very first ladies' collection Emotion. A remarkable start of 2008!

Louis Erard watches are distinguished by refined lines and both classical and contemporary features. The timepieces reveal the brand's love for fine mechanics in the purest Swiss tradition. Louis Erard has concentrated on the production of fairly priced mechanical watches that are perceived as animate reminders that passing time is irretrievable.

Louis Erard Chrono 1931
The Louis Erard emblematic 1931 Collection has been joined by a new stunning timepiece - the Chrono 1931. The magnificent watch, radiating with rare elegance, is destined to become the cornerstone of the line.

The stainless steel case of the Chrono 1931, 44 mm in diameter, is provided with anti-reflective sapphire crystal and transparent case-back. It is 50-meter water-resistant. Besides traditional centrally-placed hours, minutes and seconds, the timepiece features the day, date and chronograph functions.

The silvered or black dial of the watch is completed with silvered hour markers. The double day-date window is positioned at 3 o'clock, 30-minute counter at 12 o'clock; 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock and small seconds at 9 o'clock.

The Chrono 1931 is secured to the wrist with brown or black leather strap equipped with stainless steel folding clasp. The timepiece is powered by ETA 7750 Valjoux automatic mechanical movement.

Louis Erard Emotion for Ladies
The long-awaited first Louis Erard collection of ladies' watches is created for today's active woman who value distinguished elegance, fine mechanical workmanship, top quality and respect for tradition. The pure lines of the Emotion watch underline the refined nature of the dial, with curves symbolizing the movement. This timekeeper is designed for women who love fine workmanship.

The stainless steel case of the Louis Erard Emotion watch measures 36 mm in diameter. It is united with anti-reflective sapphire crystal and onyx cabochon crown. The case construction guarantees 50-meter water-resistance.

The white, black or brown dial reveals silver hands and triangular-shaped hour markers. It is distinguished by an unusual date display - a semi-circular rotating sub-dial with Arabic numerals and a triangular indicator positioned at 12 o'clock. The large small seconds sub-dial occupies the lower part of the dial.

The ladies' watch embraces the wrist with a satin silver, black or brown or white leather strap equipped with a stainless steel folding clasp. In the heart of the timepiece there beats a mechanical automatic movement - ETA 2895-2.

The Loius Erard Emotion watch has been developed in a few variations - a steel model boasting a bezel set with 64 diamonds, and 18-K rose gold with an option of the bezel set with 64 diamonds.

Established in 1931, the Louis Erard Company has passed through its ups and downs. It was even closed down at the beginning of the 1990-s. The brand was re-launched in 2003 by a group of investors headed by Alain Spinedi who wanted to produce high-quality mechanical watches at affordable prices. With the group's support, Louis Erard's annual production increased from over 1,000 pieces in 2003 to more than 17,000 in 2007.

Every new timekeeping creation from Louis Erard is caught by the spirit of entrepreneurship united with the spirit of time.
