Boucheron and Girard-Perregaux - Ladyhawke Tourbillon Watch

May 18, 2010
A collaborative project between Boucheron and Girard-Perregaux, the spectacular Ladyhawke Tourbillon jewelry watch is powered by the legendary Tourbillon with three gold bridges.

The movement is an up-to-date interpretation of the calibre Constant Girard-Perregaux, which experienced its world premiere and took the gold at the Paris Universal Exhibition held in 1889. It was the very same year, when Frederic Boucheron earned a place on the winnersí rostrum in the Jewelry category.

The Boucheron brand has build a solid reputation as a jeweler, which specializes in watches themed around animals. The one off Ladyhawke Tourbillon watch, which represents a falcon clutching a watch, is an eloquent evidence of the brandís rich wellspring of expertise.

A true feast for the eyes, the falcon is sculptured from solid gold and embellished with a flamboyant plumage of jewels. The watch sparkles with diamonds, which weight totals to more than 25 carats. The qualified designers have infused the Ladyhawke Tourbillon with an intangible aura of mystery, creating a stunning illusion of the watch becoming a single magnificent diamond. The gorgeous bird immediately brings to mind the Italian medieval legend recreated in 1985 film Ladyhawke. It is a fantasy tale about a woman who turns into a falcon at night.

An icon in the field of watchmaking, the Girard-Perregaux Tourbillon with three gold Bridges movement has already conquered its place at the pinnacle of timelessness. Born under the keen eyes and dexterous hands of the brandís craftsmen, the Tourbillon incorporates 72 elements within the area, which measures one centimeter in diameter. The overall weight of this mechanism constitutes 0.3 gram. It is entirely embellished and assembled by hand.

Inspired by the falcon, the messenger of the Gods, the fascinating Boucheron and Girard-Perregaux Ladyhawke Tourbillon jewelry watch was born as a result of the perfect alliance between High Watchmaking and High Jewelry.
