Ladoire Mr Green Black Widow Watch - Appeals Directly to Emotions

Jan 13, 2011
The Swiss horological company Ladoire Geneve presents to the public its new Mr. Green Black Widow watch, which is equally exciting outside and inside. The stunning model is encouraged by a highly venomous species of spider - Lactrodaectus Manctans. The spider was nicknamed Black Widow, since the distinctive black and red colored female of the species eats her mate after reproduction.

The new Ladoire watch draws and holds the eye with its function-packed display, designed to appeal directly and powerfully to the emotions. The black multilayered dial is accented with subtle touches of green and white.

It delineates regulator-type offset hours, minutes and seconds zones, equipped with a patented display complication -HMS Planetary. The latter is mounted on ceramic micro ball bearings.

Beyond that, the model provides a GMT function. The second time-zone can be read off from a central hand. Controlling this hand is a black titanium pusher with an A-DLC type PVD coating, positioned at 2 oclock. The open-worked structure of the display permits a glance into an automatic movement, which utilizes a micro rotor.

With its thickness equal to 10.95 mm, the mechanism incorporates a W-shaped GMT bridge structure and a shaped main plate. The measurements of the last-mentioned element constitute 39.50 mm x 29.50 mm. Embellished with 38 jewels, the caliber runs at the rate of 18,800 vibrations per hour and supplies a 52-hour power reserve.

The reliable movement is hidden inside an imposing titanium case. It is outlined by a bezel, produced from the same material. The case of the new Mr. Green Black Widow watch boasts an A-DLC type PVD coating. At 8 oclock it presents a black winding crown, treated with the same type of coating.

The front side of the model is armed with a cambered, glare-proofed sapphire crystal. The back part of the case is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal, also glare-proofed. The new Ladoire watch is 50-meter water-resistant.

Issued in a limited edition of just 12 pieces, the timepiece is attached to a full-grain smooth leather strap with double hand stitching. It terminates in a pin buckle, treated with an A-DLC type PVD coating.
