Enjoy Alexander Shorokhoff Kostya Tszyu Watch

Dec 20, 2010
The German watchmaker Alexander Shorokhoff has build a solid reputation with its extraordinary mechanical timepieces.

Now, the brand joins the stream of limited edition models, by launching its Kostya Tszyu watch. As its name suggests, this novelty is a respectful nod to the outstanding Russian boxer and four-time world championship winner.

Released on the occasion of this sportsman’s 40th birthday, the new Alexander Shorokhoff watch is available in an impressive stainless steel case. It is endowed with a massive winding crown, located at 3 o’clock. The crown is supported by two chronograph pushers, featured at 2 and 4 o’clock.

On its top, the case is armed with a vaulted sapphire glass. The company’s craftsmen have also equipped the timekeeper with a screw-type glass back. The model is built to be water-resistant up to 5 atm.

Function-packed as it, the timepiece fully reflects Kostya’s versatile character: he is not only a sportsman, but also a sponsor, politician and a businessman. The useful array of features is presented on a black guilloched dial. It is completed with extra-large contrasting Arabic numerals, positioned at 2, 4, 8 and 10 o’clock.

The display of the new Kostya Tszyu watch also exposes stick-shaped indexes, doubled at 12 o’clock. Both numbers and indexes are treated with a luminous compound to ensure a high level of visibility.

Taking care of hours and minutes are imposing hands, tipped with arrows. The seconds are indicated by means of the slim bright colored central hand. The dial also ensures chronograph functions, presented through two counters at 6 and 12 o’clock.

The day of the week and the current month indications are offered in separate apertures at 3 o‘clock. The symmetry of the watch face is assured by the exhibition window at 9 o’clock. It shows an individual number of the watch and a numeral 270. The latter corresponds to the number of Kostya’s fights during his amateur career and consequently to the number of horological items released.

The timepiece is powered by a self-winding chronograph movement. Just as elegant and sporty, as Kostya’s style of boxing, the new Alexander Shorokhoff watch is teamed with a genuine crocodile leather strap.
