Having cooperated with photographer

JeanRichard offers its support to
Big Life Foundation. The non-profit organization deals with preserving the fauna and ecosystem of Africa.
The watchmaking brand has created a one-of-a-kind special edition timepiece – the
JeanRichard Highlands Big Life Limited Edition watch.
The
44.5mm sand-blasted steel case demonstrates black PVD coating. It incorporates a green outer rotating bezel featuring hour markers for the second time zone.
The
sober black dial offers supreme legibility as it is completed with Arabic numerals coated with ivory luminescent material. You will notice the “Big Life” signature in red in the lower part of the dial.
The sapphire crystal case-back holds one more surprise - an elephant transfer inspired by Big Life Foundation’s logo and one of Nick Brandt’s most famous photos. You can drop a glance at the
JR1000 automatic winding movement beating inside the timepiece. The 27-jewel movement operates at a frequency of 28,000 vibrations per hour. It gives an advantage of a 48-hour power reserve.
The new JeanRichard watch has been conceived
for the most demanding outdoor usage – it corresponds to strict technical specifications. The model has been tested inside a climate chamber to make sure it will resist even extreme climatic conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity levels. The watch’s impact-resistance has also been checked.
The
JeanRichard Highlands Big Life watch is
100-meter water-resistant. It is coupled with a black fabric strap fitted with a folding buckle. It is
limited to 100 pieces.

The name of the JeanRichard brand has been inspired by a true legend of watchmaking -
Daniel JeanRichard. The genius watchmaker was born in 1665 in the hamlet of Les Bressel, between La Chaux-de-Fonds and Le Locle. In 1681, Daniel created his first watch, having later established his watchmaking workshop. The watchmaker constructed a machine and shared his development with his colleagues. He also trained apprentices.
Daniel JeanRichard represented the living embodiment of avant-gardism. He not only produced watches, he also invented watchmaking machines and tools, having provided the basis for studying the art of watchmaking itself.
Daniel JeanRichard is also famous for the pocket watch he created in 1710 as a true technical and aesthetic masterpiece. The "Daniel" pocket watch has been reproduced in many variations. Now, it is on display at the JeanRichard Museum.
The silver case of the pocket watch accommodates a
crown wheel movement fitted with a chain and fusee mechanism responsible for transmitting the power from the mainspring in a regular manner. The intricately engraved balance-coq protects the balance. The enamel dial features a single hour hand presented in blued steel.

Primarily created for avid divers, this high end
Diverscope JR1000 model offers
300-meter water-resistance. It has been achieved due to such specific elements as a sapphire crystal, which is two and a half times thicker than its standard counterpart, and screwed crowns.
Every single item, including controls under air and water conditions up to 37.5 bars, is painstakingly tested on a regular basis.
The case, featuring its lavish dimensions of 43 x 43 mm, has an original internal rotating bezel. Two black PVD-treated titanium crowns offer the following
accurate functions: the crown located at 3 o’ clock animates the hours, minutes and seconds’ hands as well as allows to set the date ; the crown, placed at 9 o’clock, enables adjusting the bidirectional bezel’s position in order to visualize the diving time left.
Both case and bezel of the
Diverscope JR1000 model, manufactured from stainless steel, feature injected vulcanized rubber coating. Utilized in automobile industry and for professional diving masks, this hypoallergenic vulcanized rubber is distinguished by its
extreme resistance to shocks, abrasion and UV rays.
The optimal weight of this watch has been attained due to the rubber’s density and to the usage of the components made of titanium.
To add to the beauty of this sportive timepiece
JeanRichard complements it with a sand-blasting finishing. As a result, the rubber acquires a supremely soft satin surface.
The dial comes with the choice of two colors - lime blossom or black and green. It exposes luminescent indexes and Roman numerals, which ensure a better visibility in poor light conditions, as in the deep waters.
Every
Diverscope JR1000 watch is accompanied by two straps: the first made of rubber and the second one produced from fabric.
