Jaquet Droz Creates New Watches for Ladies

Jun 18, 2009
The Jaquet Droz watch line for ladies welcomes three exclusive newcomers. Two of the novel timepieces reveal a breathtaking diamond-setting, while the third timepiece wins the heart by its mother of pearl dial highlighted by a mechanically sophisticated retrograde date indicator.

The Jaquet Droz Hommage Paris 1785 Collection is joined by the L'Heure Celeste watch. The case of the timepiece is sculptured from 18K white or red gold and measures 41mm in diameter.

The majestic gold dial shows an off-centered hour display, one of the signature details of the brands timepieces. It paralyzes attention by the raised and pave-set globular figures that embody planets and heavenly bodies in the night sky. The three dimensional nature of the dial is accentuated with help of a highly curved sapphire crystal.

The L'Heure Celeste watch accommodates the self-winding Jaquet Droz Calibre 2653. The movement boasts fine decorations and 22K gold winding mass, revealed through a sapphire crystal case-back. The movement is beating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and provides a 68-hour power-reserve.

The Jaquet Droz L'Heure Selenite watch fascinates by its nocturnal charm. The luxurious watch is clearly inspired by the moon and star-studded night sky. The timepiece is also a fine addition to the Hommage Paris 1785 collection.

The case of the L'Heure Selenite is crafted in a polished 18K white gold and measures 39mm in diameter. The splendid dial demonstrates pave-set black diamonds in a smart mixture with variously sized white round brilliants. The black diamonds frame the crescent-like mother of pearl "moon" and the off-centered onyx section completed with polished white gold hour and minute hands.

provides precision timekeeping due to the self-winding Jaquet Droz Calibre 2653.

The Jaquet Droz Date Astrale watch is crowned by precious gemstones and watchmaking complications. The 18K white gold case of the timepiece measures 39mm in diameter. The case bezel and lugs are adorned with round brilliant diamonds.

A white or black mother of pearl dial shows an off-centered hours and minutes, along with a long, semi-circular date window.

The zest of the model is a single sparkling diamond that advances in precise increments every 24 hours. When the last day of the month comes, the diamond immediately jumps back to its starting position at "1". This diamond motion may be compared with a shooting star.

The sapphire crystal window in the case-back of the Date Astrale watch allows to admire the finely decorated Jaquet Droz 2650R self-winding movement with the 22K gold central rotor. The movement offers 68 hours of power reserve.

Each of the new Jaquet Droz ladies watches, reviewed by Watches.InfoNIAC.com, will be available in a limited edition of just eight pieces. The timepieces embrace the wrist with an elegant alligator strap fitted with an ardillon buckle in 18K gold. The timepieces are 30-meter water-resistant.
