Jaeger-LeCoultre is pleased to unveil its
new Grande Reverso 1931 Rouge watch. The timepiece is a tribute to one of the rarest and most popular Reverso models. In the 1930s, the Reverso watch was presented in a wide range of dial colors.
The majority of customers were interested in models featuring white, cream, black or golden dial. You would rarely see a person wearing a wristwatch with a chestnut brown or blue dial. But if someone opted for a watch with a red dial, it was interpreted as a symbol of dandyism and freedom. Such a wristwatch was a true eye-catcher, with the color of red symbolizing life, love, blood, power and desire.
The new Jaeger-LeCoultre watch is a reinterpretation of the red dials born in the 1930s. The generously-sized yet slender
case (46mm long, 27.5mm wide and 7.27mm thick) is rendered in steel. It accommodates a
manually-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 822. The 134-part, 21-jewel movement, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, offers a 45-hour power reserve.
The
red lacquered dial is completed with silver-toned hour-markers. It displays hours and minutes.
The timepiece is 30-meter water-resistant.
The
new Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 1931 Rouge watch is synonymous to passion, classicism and originality. You will be able to see this model at SIHH 2012 next January in Geneva.
