Jaeger-LeCoultre Watch Exposed on Eva Mendes’ Wrist

Jaeger-LeCoultre watch enthusiast, this time Eva Mendes was exposing on her wrist the Reverso Lady Squadra watch, sculptured in pink gold.

The German watch magazine Armbanduhren, which means Wristwatches, when translated from German, has entitled the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Lady Squadra the best women’s timepiece for 2009.

This model also fully justifies that part of its name that sounds like Reverso. It means that the reverse side of the case provides the watch owner with another dial. Thus, both sides of the timepiece reveal the time: the front side exposes a day/night indicator and the date, whereas the timepiece back side shows just the time.

Featuring the diamond-set case, the watch comes with a beautiful white metal or alligator bracelet. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Lady Squadra watch is offered in two color variations: black and white.

In the course of the recent premiere of Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds", that took place on July 28th, the renowned Swiss watch-making house Jaeger-LeCoultre drew almost as much attention as the actors themselves.

Alongside with Diane Kruger, the brand’s graceful ambassador, acting the part of Bridget von Hammersmark in the film in question, Christian Berkel, Inglorious Basterds co-star and his wife, actress Andrea Sawatzki, were wearing the elegant creations by Jaeger-LeCoultre, while posing for the photos on the red carpet.

The timepiece, Diane Kruger decided on, is a true pride of the brand. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Joaillerie 101 Art Deco watch, created for ladies, demonstrates a case and a matching bracelet, rendered in 18-karat white gold. The timepiece features more than 180 round brilliant diamonds overall.

The model is animated by the manual winding Calibre 101 movement, which has been regarded as the tiniest caliber in the world since it was unveiled in 1929, meaning for 80 years. Its unbelievably small space of 3.2mm incorporates about 100 individual elements. The ultra low weight of the movement is about a gram. It is a true artistic creation, which allows the brand to continuously create spectacular high-end jewelry watches for women, featuring the highest level of Art Deco refinement and beauty.

Christian Berkel and Andrea Sowatzki exposed on their wrists the watches from Jaeger-LeCoultre's famous Master Compressor line. Both elegant and resolutely sporty Master Compressor Chronograph Lady watch, showing up on Andrea Sowatzki's wrist, reveals a case and bracelet crafted in polished steel, a black dial with lustrous hour markers, as well as a bezel, sparkling with perfectly matched round brilliant diamonds.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 101 Mechanical Movement's 80th Anniversary
The history of the modern Calibre 101 mechanical movement dates back to 1929, the year when the first movement of the kind was created.

Currently, this movement has the same name. Improved over the years, it includes up-to-date, extremely adorned interpretations.

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 101 has been the smallest mechanical movement in the world since it was unveiled, meaning for 80 years.

The annual output of these tiny movements is limited to 25 pieces only. The dimensions of the movement in question are 14 mm X 4.8 mm X 3.4mm: length, width and thickness respectively.

The movement is composed of 98 parts meant to make up its current iteration. The latest versions of the movement are able to incorporate even more parts, while the original 1929 Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 101 movement comprised 78 parts only. Its ultra low weight is about a gram.

The Calibre 101 is a hand-wound mechanical movement set with 19 precious stones - the number that seems unbelievable for such a small space. Another distinctive feature of the movement is its rich embellishment, embracing hand etching on the 18k gray gold bridges and polished finishing on all surfaces.

Thin and long in its exclusive shape, this movement is used in a series of different high-jewelry timekeeping companions for women. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 101 also features extremely small blued steel screws, that seem large against its overall background.

Very hard to create, these movements are manufactured in limited series and integrated into the most luxurious watches for ladies.
