new Cyclone Tourbillon watch, the house of
Jacob & Co has definitely pushed back the boundaries of technology. The model incorporates a tourbillon - the first mechanism of the kind, with the tourbillon and the automatic bidirectional winding systems completely integrated within each other.
Created for the brand by the Swiss complications specialist
La Fabrique du Temps, under the guidance of
Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini, the new Jacob & Co watch demonstrates audacious design and incredible mechanical complexity.
The tourbillon carriage is mounted on the oscillating mass of the automatic winding system. To be seen in full glory, it has been moved to the dial side of the
Caliber LFT 108 movement. The latter reveals a decorative motif with brushed rhodium and black finish. Adorned with 48 rubies, it beats to the rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour and supplies a
45-hour power reserve.
