A true nautical instrument, the new IWC watch offers a generous set of features required for operating at surprisingly high speeds even in the most extreme conditions encountered by the user. The watch provides a stopwatch function with hours, minutes and seconds, hour and minute counters in a single totalizer at 12 o’clock, a small hacking seconds hand, a flyback function and a date indication.
All the functions are presented on a perfectly balanced black carbon dial. It is completed with applied steel Arabic numerals, indices as well as hour and minute hands, inlaid with luminous compound. The latter ensures a perfect level of visibility.
The face of the new IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph Edition Volvo Ocean Race watch is covered by a sapphire crystal with a double-sided glare-proofed treatment. The sapphire glass is also used for the screwed-down back side of the 45.4mm round-shaped titanium case. The model is equipped with a protected screw-in crown. The water-resistance of the case is assured down to 60 meters.
Placed inside the timepiece is a manufactory-made automatic 89361 movement, built on 38 jewels. It runs at the rate of 28.800 vibrations per hour and provides a 68-hour power reserve.
The new IWC watch comes fitted with a black rubber strap, finalized by a folding clasp in stainless steel.
