This horological marvel relies on a Swiss made automatic Caliber 64710 movement, executed entirely in the brand’s workshops. Studded with 29 rubies, it operates at a frequency of 28, 800 vibrations per hour and offers an impressive power reserve of 72 hours.
The movement inside the new IWC watch drives the functions of hours, minutes and hacking small seconds as well as those of date and 24-hour GMT indicator.
The caliber described finds its natural home in a rose gold or stainless steel case. It boasts a diameter of 45 mm and is just 12 mm thick. The aforementioned functions are governed by an appealing crown, placed at 3 o’clock.
The body of the timepiece is outlined by a perfectly made bezel. It is sculptured in rose gold or stainless steel. The material is chosen to match that of the case.
The face of the new Portofino Dual Time Automatic GMT watch is armed with a glare-proofed sapphire crystal. The same glass is utilized for the back side of the model.
The top sapphire crystal serves to cover a black dial. It is completed with slim stick-shaped hour-markers and a minute graduation, printed in white. The indexes are joined by Roman numerals at 6 and 12 o’clock. Taking care of hours and minutes are extremely graceful centralized leaf-shaped hands. The seconds are indicated in a counter, positioned at 6 o’clock.
The dial is visually balanced by a 24-hour GMT indicator, presented at 12 o’clock. Its daring red-painted hand is a true eye-catcher of the display. The date is shown through an aperture, nestled at 3 o’clock. The entire harmony of the dial is complimented by the brand’s and collection’s names, found at 9 and 3 o’clock correspondingly.
A triumph of legibility, design and elegance, the new IWC watch comes fitted with a chocolate brown leather strap, made by the Italian shoemaker Santoni.
