Fortis IQ Watch in Playful Spirit

Jun 22, 2010
The illustrious horological company Fortis has proudly introduced its intriguing "IQ Watch", created by the esteemed designer Rolf Sachs.

Always in quest of novelty and exclusivity, this highly qualified specialist has earned fame due to his puristic designs.

The new product from Rolf Sachs features an appealing face, developed in a blackboard style. Presented in dark green, the watch dial reveals Arabic and Roman numerals, as well as various math signs, which substitute hour-markers. They produce an effect of being written with a chalk.

Traveling over the hour-markers are hands, also dressed in white. All the elements, exposed on the display, are treated with a luminous compound, which makes the dial visible even in most extreme low-light situations. This skillfully-made appearance immediately brings to mind happy moments from the childhood.

According to Sachs, the idea of developing the IQ Watch was prompted by the shop window design, he created for Selfridges, a department store in London.

Radiating with a playful spirit, the remarkable Fortis watch fully reflects the character of the experienced artist. Behind its humorous exterior lies the best of the cutting edge technology.

The Fortis IQ Watch has been issued in a limited series of 999 individually numbered pieces.
