The third invention comprises a single tourbillon cage. Inclined at a 25° angle, it completes a rapid rotation in 24 seconds. This exclusive mechanism assures the brilliant performance of the watch.
The new Greubel Forsey watch reveals the time on an oversized 24-hour display, which occupies most of the space on the face. Concentric to the hour dial, the minute display is equipped with a blue indicator, whereas pointing to the hours is a red one.
The linear indicator of the 72-hour power reserve, nestled at 2 o’clock, and the tourbillon, positioned at 8 o’clock create a perfect balance on the dial. The sub-seconds counter, placed at 5 o’clock, adds a final note of harmony to the dial design.
The tourbillion supported by a signature arrow-shaped bridge is visible on the reverse side of the watch serves as an aesthetical link between the front and back of the timepiece. You can also see it via the lateral convex sapphire crystal.
Animating the Invention Piece 3 watch is a mechanical manually-wound movement - Calibre GF 01n. It boasts the diameter of 36.40 mm and its thickness is equal to 11.51 mm. Composed of 370 individual parts, the movement incorporates 42 jewels. The mechanism operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour.
All the technical treasures of the watch are incorporated into a case, which is 16.11 mm thick and measures 43.50 mm in diameter. Its water-resistance is down to 30 meters. The watch case is endowed with a crown, struck with the black lacquered GF logo.
Technically outstanding, the new Greubel Forsey Invention Piece 3 watch is a testament to the skills of the brand’s craftsmen. As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, the watch is presented as an exclusive series of 11 pieces in white gold, 11 pieces in red gold and 11 pieces in platinum.
Invention Piece 3 is mounted on a hand-sewn black or brown alligator leather strap, which terminates in a gold folding clasp, engraved with the Greubel Forsey logo.
