Audemars Piguet Unveils Its Millenary Chalcedony Tourbillon Watch

Jul 22, 2009
In 2009, skeleton watches by Audemars Piguet have become the brands key focal point.

The bright representative of such timepieces is the Millenary Chalcedony Tourbillon model, which features a shining transparent blue open-worked chalcedony main plate.

Its Calibre 2861 manually-wound movement represents an unparalleled blend of jewelry and poetry-touched mechanics.

Four ornamental rings, sculptured in jewel-set pink gold, complement the entirely open-worked movement with a precious touch of subtlety. The movement demonstrates wheels, which intertwine in a magnificent way, creating golden arabesque motifs.

The watch case, featuring the dimensions of 45 mm x 40 mm, is rendered in 18-carat pink gold set with brilliant-cut diamonds. The dial of the timepiece reveals a sapphire crystal with etched Arabic numerals.

The Millenary Chalcedony Tourbillon model offers a power reserve of more than 72 hours and an oscillation of 21,600 vibrations per hour.
