Eco-Drive Concept from Citizen

Jun 09, 2009
At Baselworld 2009, Citizen introduced the Eco-Drive technology and design. The Citizen brand unique features were mirrored in all products, product concepts, video, booth as well as advertisements.

A clean source of energy, light is used in the technology in question. Eco-Drive never stops running no matter where it is, provided there is light available.

It was Eco-Drive technology performed with up to date and exquisite taste that breathed life into new concept watches introduced by Citizen at Baselworld 2009.

Three innovative models presented at Baselworld 2009 set the tone for the future direction of Citizen. These models fully reflect the potential of Eco-Drive and Design, with a product policy of "The Fusion of Technology and Beauty" as its base. They are planned to be put on the market in the coming future.

"Eco-Drive RING"
A progressive concept timepiece with the design characterized by the light-receiving solar cell, located on the periphery of the case.

"Eco-Drive DOME"
Presented for the first time this year, a model with the Cal.H610 new movement demonstrates the dome-shaped dial and unique structure of the case. The distinctive look of the watch is achieved due to strengthening of the transparent materials’ features to the greatest extent possible.

"Eco-Drive VITRO"
The glass has an invisibly minute solar cell spread throughout it. This epochal technology makes the dial design vary. The innovative model also reveals a skeleton-type dial incorporated in the case.

Enjoy a fine selection of Citizen watches:
