On September 25, 2008, Omega and Manfredi Jewels, Greenwich, Connecticut, invited a group of passionate watch enthusiasts for an exclusive dinner where all the guests were given an exclusive chance to find out more about the horological art and even try themselves at watchmaking. After the guests enjoyed a delicious dinner, Horologist and Watchmaking Trainer Dan Fenwick invited the watch fans to join an informative discussion related to a wide range of watchmaking topics.
Dan Fenwick focused the guests' attention at discussing the technical characteristics of Omega watches, and in particular the revolutionary Omega Co-Axial Escapement, and the Omega Hour Vision watch equipped with in-house Caliber 8500 automatic movement.
During the exclusive evening, the horologists also passed around some of the new Omega watches, including the special edition Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Quantum of Solace watch and the Speedmaster 'Alaska Project' Chronograph.
Then, the guests put on Omega lab coats and opened up the supplied tool kits and, under the guidance of Dan Fenwick, began to disassemble complete Omega watches, having taken the timepieces down to the mainplate.
All the watch enthusiasts could take home their tool kits and lab coats as a token of the fascinating evening.
According to Roberto Chiappelloni, owner of Manfredi Jewels, they intend to host more Collector Dinners in Manfredi Jewels' newly decorated store, supported by other watch brands. Manfredi Jewels were really pleased to give their loyal customers a great chance to join the fascinating world of Omega watches.
