Longines GrandeVitesse - High Speeds Concept

Aug 01, 2008
Longines GrandeVitesse line comprises watches featuring fluid lines, aerodynamic curves, and energy-filled typography. The tachymeter and the pushers are created as clear reflections of the speed concept maintained by the brand. The GrandeVitesse watches have adopted inspiration from the world of automobiles and motor sports.

The Longines Company boasts a remarkable experience in the field of timing, highlighted by noteworthy technological advances. The brand wanted to develop its GrandeVitesse watches as instruments for timing records. Each watch from the line reveals a 42-mm-in-diameter case crafted in stainless steel.

The GrandeVitesse line comprises automatic chronographs equipped with mechanical movements, seen through the sapphire glass base. The Racing models feature a silver sunray, black or chocolate dial, while the Classic models show off an opaline silver, midnight blue, black and rhodium-plated dial. The dial is completed with a 'big 12', with the design suggested by the shape of the numbers used in marking racing cars. The 'Cavalier' model reveals a chestnut brown dial completed with Arabic numerals.

The non-slip embossing of the crown, case band and a pusher further strengthen the sporting spirit of the line. One of the pushers is accentuated in bright red in the 'Racing' model, and allows the activation of the chronograph functions presented through the same color indications on the dial.

The Longines GrandeVitesse watches go on a steel bracelet, leather or rubber strap with a triple security folding clasp.
