Over 10,500 world class sportsmen representing 205 nations will be competing for medals, glory and honour in 28 sports from August 8 to 24 in Beijing. Omega will be present throughout the Olympic Games, acting as Official Timekeeper for the 23rd time, responsible for recording, displaying and distributing the results.
To honor the exciting event, Omega is to reveal two watch collections named the Timeless and the Special.
The Omega precision chronograph models to form the Olympic Timeless Collection pay tribute to the chronographs used at the 1932 Los Angeles Games when the company became Official Timekeeper of the Games for the first time. Six of the models in the Collection show off the Arabic numerals and the red Omega name and logo that were featured by the early models.
The timepieces strike by a remarkable detail: the five interlocking colored Olympic rings on the counterweights of the central chronograph seconds hand. The rings pay tribute to the brand's innovative spirit in watch-making and sports timekeeping.
