Innovative Cabaret Tourbillon from A. Lange & Sohne

Apr 03, 2008
Tourbillon, an amazing horological complication invented about 200 years ago, is still one of the most fascinating features a timepiece may offer. A. Lange & Sohne has developed the new Cabaret Tourbillon peculiar for the first stop-seconds feature ever implemented in a tourbillon caliber. The timepiece has incorporated a manually wound Lange manufacture calibre L042.1.

The Cabaret Tourbillon encompasses the following functions: hours, minutes, and small seconds; power-reserve indicator (for 120-hour power-reserve); one-minute tourbillon with patented stop seconds. The crown is used for winding the watch and setting the time. The pushpiece at 2 o'clock is necessary for date correction.

Such a tourbillon, with a stop second, and such precision tolerances in house is definietly a complication in its own league.

A. Lange & sohne are kings of precision watchmaking...IMHO

im not sure that a Tourbillon constitutes a "complication". It may merely be just a housing design of the balance. Would a full balance bridge constitute a "complication"?
