In 2001, Piaget constructed a new manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, the suburbs of Geneva. The site shaped like a circle symbolizes a watch dial. Visitors enter the main building via a footbridge reminding the hand of the watch. The architectural concept pays much attention to light, due to large bay windows. Wood is much used both inside and outside, valued as a natural material that 'does not injure the precious metal, symbolizing the jewel-case.'
Piaget transferred more than forty specialist professions on-site, including gem-setting, machining bracelets and cases, polishing, assembly, casing-up and adjustment. A dedicated prototype workshop and an after-sales service are also there.
