Porsche Design Worldtimer P'6750 Honored by "iF Product Design Award"

Porsche Design Worldtimer P'6750 was highly recognized at "iF Design Awards"- the watch won the longed-for "iF Product Design Award" annually presented in Hanover by Industrie Forum Design. The award ceremony is to take place on March 4, 2008 as a part of the "CeBit" Information Technology trade fair in Hanover.

The timeless and puristic design of the Worldtimer P'6750 has attracted attention of the whole army of fans. The Porsche Design watch has incorporated an innovative technology - it simultaneously displays the time for two different time zones. The timepiece has an additional crown with an integrated button to provide an easy way to change the world time settings.

The Porsche Design Worldtimer P'6750 was initially unveiled by Eterna, licensee partner of Porsche Design since 1998, at the Baselworld Watch and Jewellery Show held in April, 2007. Eterna has developed a special movement module based on the ETA Valgranges calibre A 07 111. The module allowed adding an intelligent GMT function to the movement.

The three hands positioned in the centre of the timepiece display the time in the time zone where the watch's wearer currently finds himself. Behind the dial there are rotating discs to enable the movement additionally display, through two dial apertures, a reference location and the present time in the corresponding time zone. The second time zone in synchronized with the main watch time.

The reference location can be changed with help of the crown found at 2 o'clock. When the Porsche Design watch’s wearer has to change the time zone, the reference time is transferred to the centrally-positioned hands simply by pressing a button.

While the owner of the Porsche Design Worldtimer P'6750 is adjusting the time zone function, the automatic movement continues to run without losing one single second of the original setting.

To mark the reference cities, the aperture found at 3 o’clock on the dial shows special three-letter codes that are explained by an engraving on the case back.

The present time in the corresponding time zone is featured in the aperture at 9 o’clock.

The design of the Porsche Design Worldtimer P'6750 reveals simple cylindrical forms of the case crafted in titanium, typical Porsche Design material. The dial sports typography, styling and colors accentuating the functional character of the watch.
