Sep 26, 2011
Hublot has released its new Liberty Bang watch - a collaborative project between the manufacture, the Constitution Center and the Liberty Medal. The model is intentionally reserved for the recipients of the Liberty Medal. It is traditionally given to courageous men and women, who fight for the liberty of people all over the world. This award was prior bestowed on Nelson Mandela, Shimon Peres, Stephen Spielberg, Kofi Annan, Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and Bono.

The issue of the new Hublot watch is strictly limited to 100 individually numbered pieces. It is set in a 45mm “Classic Fusion” case, crafted from polished and satin black ceramic. The top of the case is armed with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, securely held in place by a satin black ceramic bezel. The latter is bolted down to the case with 6 H-shaped titanium screws.

The black ceramic crown at 3 o’clock is struck with the brand’s logo. The case-back is embossed with a Hublot engraving. The water-resistance of the model is assured down to 5 atm.

The new Hublot Liberty Bang watch proudly reveals a black sapphire dial. It demonstrates the colors of the American flag alongside with the text and quotations from the American Constitution. The display ensures central hours, minutes and seconds, indicated by polished, black nickel-plated hands.

The dial is controlled by an automatic HUB1112 movement. It comprises 63 individual parts, including 25 rubies. The caliber incorporates a tungsten oscillating weight with a black PVD-coated dimpled surface; satin-finished, bevelled and polished bridges; a Glucydur hairspring and black PVD-treated screws. The movement supplies a 42-hour power reserve.

The new Hublot watch is accompanied by a black gummy alligator leather strap. It joins to a black PVD-treated steel deployant buckle.
