Hublot and Hour Glass - Project F Bang - Make a Wish Come True

Aug 15, 2008
Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot has joined efforts with exclusive luxury retailer The Hour Glass to offer support to charity organization named Make A Wish Foundation. The organization's aim is to realize the dreams of children suffering from life-threatening illnesses and bring to them some joy and hope.

Their collaboration that has grown into Project F Bang has been marked by the launch of a new watch to join the iconic Hublot Big Bang collection. The split-seconds chronograph pays tribute to Singapore's Formula One racing event, the first night race ever. The watch will be available in a limited edition of 100 pieces.

The Hublot Project F Bang Big Bang Chronograph features a black ceramic case, measuring 44.5 mm in diameter. The bold construction of the case catches attention by the lugs and lateral inserts in red composite resin. The watch boasts 100-meter water-resistance.

The distinctive bezel in satinized black ceramic is fitted with six H-shaped titanium screws. The first thing you notice when you drop a glance at a satin-finish black dial of the Hublot watch is the red numeral 12. The dial is protected by anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

The split-seconds chronograph excites imagination by its technically sophisticated nature - its push-pieces and crown are found on the left side of the case. The watch accommodates a self-winding HUB44 RT movement, developed by the brand in association with movement specialist La Joux-Perret.

The split-seconds chronograph function allows the timing of an independent period of elapsed time. One more advantage of the unique Hublot Big Bang is the power reserve indicator to keep you aware of the status of the 42-hour reserve provided by the mainspring barrel.

The Hublot Project F Bang Big Bang Chronograph is secured to the wrist with the characteristic Hublot rubber strap fitted with a black PVD-coated steel deployant buckle.

The Hour Glass, representing the exclusive distributor of Hublot watches in Singapore and Malaysia, is to pledge to Make A Wish Foundation, 5 per cent of the retail price of every Hublot F-Bang Big Bang watch sold through its boutiques in the countries.

Hublot has continuously provided support to a number of charity projects around the world. The Hublot Ayrton Senna Big Bang watch was created in 2007 to support the Ayrton Senna Institute founded by the late F1 driver to bring education to deprived children living in Brazilian slums.
