Meet Hublot Chukker Bang Watch

Aug 22, 2011
On the occasion of the Polo Gold Cup Gstaad, the house of Hublot has released its new Chukker Bang watch.

The novelty is influenced by the game of polo and developed in collaboration with Facundo Piers. One of the world’s best polo players, the sportsman is one of the brand’s ambassadors.

The new Hublot watch owes its name to a period of play in a polo match, which usually lasts about 7 minutes. Therefore, the model is equipped with a 7 minutes 30 counter. In fact, the word “chukka” is borrowed from Hindi chakkar or from Sanskrit chakra, which means “circle or wheel”.

Another special feature of the new Hublot Chukker Bang watch is a titanium grille - an innovative element in the design of the brand’s models. Secured to the bezel, it protects the sapphire crystal. The company also offers another watch version with a diamond-studded grille.

The central hours and minutes as well as the chronograph functions are powered by a HUB1141 Polo Flyback automatic movement. The red chronograph hand completes one revolution in 30 seconds. The mechanism supplies a 42-hour power reserve.

The caliber is housed inside a 44mm case, crafted from titanium. Its back side is marked with a special Chukker Bang engraving and an individual number of the model. The water-resistance of the case is assured down to 100 meters.

Issued in a limited edition of 500 pieces, the new Hublot watch is accompanied by an adjustable black rubber and beige calfskin strap with ecru stitching.
