The top Swiss watchmaker Harry Winston has recently launched its new collection of jewelry and timepieces, encouraged by the glamorous city of New York. To mark the occasion there was arranged an exclusive cocktail party with the actress Freida Pinto as its hostess. The celebration took place on Sunday, September 13th, 2009.

This festive event saw the attendance of such celebrities as Gerard Butler, actor; Jennifer Esposito, actress; Jason Wu, designer; Astrid Munos, model; Oluchi Onweagba, model and Ryan Lochte, Olympic swimmer. Harry Winston CEO, Thomas J. O’Neill and the brand’s Creative Director, Sandrine de Laage were also present at the party.

The guests of the evening were treated to champagne and caviar in Harry Winston’s Fifth Avenue salon. The shopping venue was especially redesigned for the event.

The watches from Harry Winston’s New York collection truly reflect the beauties of the New York City. Thus, romantic Sunsets are mirrored in the rarest padparadscha sapphires; the spectacular spiral of the Guggenheim is emulated in handcrafted diamonds; the city Nightlife, glittering with fascination, is reinterpreted in dazzling diamonds as well as the flowing Rivers echo in deep blue sapphires.

According to Sandrine de Laage, Creative Director of Harry Winston, the city of New York with its energy, architecture, movement and life, has always been a source of inspiration for the brand.

An up-to-date combination of sport and style, spectacular shapes and glaring diamonds of the new Harry Winston Ocean Lady Moon Phase watch are aimed at creating a new look of feminine luxury.

The Harry Winston Opus Series, initially introduced in 2001 and based on the successful collaboration with most gifted independent watchmakers, has been joined by a new innovative masterpiece – Opus 9.

Harry Winston Opus 9 has smartly united technical innovation with the top-quality diamonds, demonstrating linear driven time captured in diamonds.

Opus 9 uses diamonds not simply as decorative elements. They are used as the functional element of time- telling. The groundbreaking timepiece shows the time with help of two parallel diamond chains. Each chain sparkles with 33 baguette-cut diamonds. Each chain features a vivid mandarin garnet indicating the hours on the left side of the dial and the minutes on the right side.

To mark the 20th anniversary of its presence in the realms of Fine Watchmaking to be celebrated in 2009, Harry Winston Timepieces unveils an exclusive watch - the anniversary Premier Excenter Perpetual Calendar, one of the first timepieces created by the brand. The timepiece will be available in a limited edition of just 20 pieces. The noble timepiece is hand-crafted in platinum.

The 41mm-in-diameter platinum case is sleek and sophisticated. It is characterized by the brand's signature three-arch design. The case incorporates an anti-glare sapphire crystal and sapphire crystal case back. The watch boasts 30-meter water-resistance.

The one-of-a-kind open dial offers the view of the upgraded calendar automatic movement. The retrograde mechanism provides the date and month functions.

The leap year cycle is presented at 10 o'clock. You will notice the waxing-waning moon- phase at 6 o'clock. The hours and minutes dial is off-centered and has a yellow second time-zone indicator.

The Ladies Premier Lotus is the latest timekeeping creation from Harry Winston reflecting the brand's perfectly-mastered exquisite art of haute joaillerie.

The majestic jewelry watch has been inspired by the creative spirit prevailing in India, and the charm of the lotus blossom in particular.

The Harry Winston Ladies Premier Lotus watch reveals an opulent dial paved with diamonds, depicting a lotus flower motif. The timepiece has been created with two different dials: the first version of the dial is fully pave-set with 221 round brilliants, while the second dial sparkles with 159 stones and alternating mother-of-pearl sections.

The precious beauty of the watch is further enhanced with a dazzling, entirely gem-set case. The case of the timepiece measures 32 mm in diameter, showcasing 271 diamonds (3.3 carats).

The Ladies Premier Lotus watch embraces the wrist with a pearl or dark blue alligator strap fitted with a white gold buckle set with 48 diamonds.

The innovative watch, the ultimate expression of luxurious sophistication, reveals a majestic dual time-zone display presented via two separate hour and minute dials on the black dial with white gold indexes.

The square-shaped case strengthens the distinct masculine appeal of the watch, as well as its powerful architectural look. The case (43.4 x 44.7 mm) is crafted in white gold. The bezel of the watch is paved with 60 oversized baguette diamonds (a total of 9.87 ct). The timepiece is 30-meter water-resistant.

The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with antireflective treatment on both sides.

The highly original easy-to-read date, quickset with help of the crown, is framed vertically in the interplay of discs for the minute and hour display.

The Avenue Square A2 Men accommodates an innovative and complicated mechanical automatic movement. The development of the module was based on a robust, self-winding caliber. It was fully assembled at the Harry Winston Manufacture in Geneva, Switzerland. The mechanism provides the following functions: hours, minutes, second time zone, night and day indicators for each time zone, and vertical large date display.
