Meet Harry Winston Ocean Lady Zalium and Ocean Chronograph Watches

Nov 04, 2010
The famous Ocean collection by Harry Winston has recently gained two new worthy companions. As its name implies, the Ocean Lady Zalium watch is developed with women in mind. The Ocean Chronograph model, meanwhile, is created intentionally for men.

Proudly asserting its femininity, the new Harry Winston lady’s watch reveals a daring and glamorous design. The appealing case of the timepiece is crafted from zalium, a material, characterized by a special sheen. It demonstrates a polished and jewel-paved surface.

The case gently hugs a sunburst guilloche silvered dial. Its temporal indications are escorted by scintillating diamonds, which form a kind of parentheses on both sides of the display.

The dial is equipped with an off-centered hour circle, located at 12 o’clock. Its middle part is illuminated by the play of gorgeous jewels, brought together to make a dazzling target.

This counter is completed with Arabic numerals and white hour-markers, outlined in red. Gliding over them are centralized hands, also accented with red nuances.

Truly individualizing the new Ocean Lady Zalium watch is a moon phase complication. Featured at 8 o’clock, the display generously exposes a constellation of stars, presented against a black background. It is kept company by a small seconds counter, which closely mimics the appearance of the starfish like Shuriken. The display also bears the brand’s signature, highlighted by a single diamond.

Available with coral, lilac, fuchsia or turquoise executions, the timepiece accommodates a reliable self-winding movement. It is graced with delicate finishing, which can be observed through a sapphire crystal case-back. The power reserve, provided by this mechanism, constitutes 42 hours. Fitting this model is a white rubber strap.

The new Ocean Chronograph watch has adopted a white gold or rose gold case, measuring 44 mm in diameter. Integrated within the case are three retrograde indications, which are immediate and clear on the dial.

Embellished with a conventional Cotes de Geneve decorative pattern, the display reveals a chronograph seconds counter at 6 o’clock, overlapping with 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers. The latter are positioned at 4 and 8 o’clock respectively. The hours and minutes are indicated in the off-centered circle, located at 12 o’clock. It is secured to the dial by two blued screws.

The special eye-catcher of the new Harry Winston men’s timepiece is a Shuriken, which plays the star by spinning on its own axis. The hands featured on the watch face are accented with subtle touches of blue, Harry Winston’s favorite color. These nuances ensure the dial remains optimally readable at all times.

The display also boasts diamond-polished, snailed and circular satin-brushed finishes, which serve to enhance its visual appeal. Moreover, these finishes mark the model as strikingly masculine.

The new Harry Winston watch relies on a self-winding mechanical movement, which offers a 40-hour power reserve. Completing this model is a black leather strap.
