Hamilton Ventura for Elvis Presley

To celebrate Elvis Presley’s 75th birthday that would have been in 2010, Hamilton has created new versions of its iconic Ventura watch to form the Ventura Elvis Anniversary Collection.

The one-of-the-kind shield-like wristwatch, sported on Elvis Presley’s wrist in the 1961 movie ‘Blue Hawaii’, is now recreated as a replica of the original watch introduced in the 1950-s and as a highly contemporary XXL variation.

The Ventura Quartz is a clear reflection of the original 1957 model that highlighted Horological History as the first electrical, battery-powered watch in the world. The case design of the new watch reflects that of its 1950’s forerunners.

It is available in either stainless steel or a yellow gold PVD finish.

The black dial of the Ventura watch features digit markings culminating in an embossed rounded point reminding the surrounds of the iconic wall-clocks of the 1950-s.

The timepiece is equipped with a modern Swiss quartz movement that guarantees most precise timekeeping.

The Ventura Quartz is coupled with a metallic flex bracelet or a bi-color leather strap in a combination of black with silver or gold.

As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, the watch originally acquired by Elvis Presley would have come with a leather strap but Elvis asked the jeweler to exchange it for a metal bracelet.

Ventura XXL Elvis Anniversary
The Ventura XXL limited edition watch has acquired a number of unexpected details for a more futuristic and rocky look. The case, in a gunmetal color, with a distinctive shield shape, demonstrates smoothed surfaces and bold XXL size.

The case has an integrated angular crown with its tip pointing at 3 o’clock.

The black dial boasts racy looks as its background effect is clearly inspired by that of a high-tech sound box. Fiery red highlights the dial from 12 o’clock to 3 o’clock and on the tip of the thin seconds hand.

The modern appeal of the Ventura XXL watch is further enhanced by the case’s smart integration with a smooth black rubber strap.

The Hamilton watch, equipped with an automatic movement, will only be in production till the end of 2010.

Fans of Elvis Presley are well-aware that the ‘King’ highly appreciated his Hamilton Ventura watches, having owned three Ventura models. Besides in the "Blue Hawaii" movie, you can notice a Ventura watch worn by Elvis in many casual photos related to the period of the 1960s. At the moment, one of Elvis Presley’s Ventura watches is exhibited as part of the Graceland VIP tour.
