By launching its
new Stockholm watch, the Swedish brand
Gustafsson & Sjogren (GoS) joins the stream of limited edition models.
Purity and elegance are two qualities that have become inseparably bound up with the new Gustafsson & Sjogren watch. The issue of the novelty is strictly limited to
5 timepieces: 4 pieces come equipped with a mother-of-pearl dial and just one piece boasts a dial in blue Lapis Lazuli with small gold pyrites.
On the surface of the dial, the time is reduced to indicating just hours and minutes. Taking care of them are spear-shaped hands, crafted from hand-forged Damascus steel. They cohabit harmoniously with a file-worked and polished index ring, rendered in the same material.

The Swedish watch brand
Gustafsson & Sjogren has recently delivered two extraordinary watches, poetically named
Lapland Ice and
Lapland Sky.
Inspired by the cold north of Scandinavia, each model strikes the eye by its fascinating mother-of-pearl dial. It is embellished with a
wood-grain ladder Damascus pattern, which is left natural for the Ice interpretation and colored in lustrous blue-purple for the Sky version.
The displays of both Gustafsson & Sjogren watches are completed with
hour-markers and
hands, crafted by hand from
Damascus steel. Before assembling the dial, every index has been turned by hand on the watchmakers lathe, polished, etched and then repolished.

The Swedish horological company
Gustafsson & Sjogren is about to deliver a
new Damascus Vile watch and Oden Knife set. The creations borrowed their names from Nordic mythology, where
Vile and
Oden were gods and brothers.
The new Gustafsson & Sjogren watch is set in a
stainless steel case - 42mm x 10mm. It features an all high-gloss polished surface and the brand’s logo. At 3 o’clock the case sports an 8mm crown, done in
fine-grained Damascus stainless steel. The top of the model is assembled with a flat sapphire crystal with glare-proofed treatment.
Housed in the case is a hand-forged damascus steel dial. It features an index ring, shaped by hand and done in polished grade 5 titanium. The display of the
new Gustafsson & Sjogren Damascus Vile watch ensures hours and minutes, indicated by polished silver finished hands. Animating the functions is a
Swiss made hand-wound ETA Unitas 6498-1 movement, refinished and improved by the Swiss company
Soprod.

Gustafsson & Sjogren watches represent a collaborative project between Swedish knifesmith
Johan Gustafsson and Swedish watchmaker
Patrik Sjogren. It is Damascus steel that brings together two different objects, a watch and a knife, which at the first sight seem to have nothing in common.
Developed more than thousand years ago, the
Damascus steel technique was originally utilized to produce blades for swords, which demonstrated the exemplary sharpness and strength. Johan and Patrik have teamed up to discover another field of use for this remarkable material: they have agreed to apply this forging technique for manufacturing alluring hand-crafted dials.
The
Blizzard watch proudly exposes a
Damascus steel dial, embellished with a twisted explosion pattern. The hand-crafted chapter ring is rendered in grade-5 titanium.
