de GRISOGONO Watches - Touch of Design Genius

Feb 01, 2008
The de GRISOGONO Company was established in 1993. Initially Fawaz Gruosi concentrated his attention at creating highly original jewelry items. Only 7 years later, in 2000, having built most prestigious reputation in the field of jewelry, Mr. Gruosi decided to add a watchmaking branch to his business.

At that time nobody could imagine that the company would achieve such great success in developing bold and innovative watches. Today, de GRISOGONO is equally successful in designing and producing exclusive watches and pieces of jewelry.

The de GRISOGONO Instrumento N Uno was the first timepiece introduced by the brand. It represented an elegantly designed square-shaped watch. It displayed a second time zone at 6 o'clock.

The distinctive detail of the de GRISOGONO watch was the date aperture found in the unusual position at 7.30. The galuchat strap on the models for ladies became one more peculiarity of the brand. The Instrumento N Uno was revealed to the horology world at the BaselWorld Fair. The timepiece enjoyed an instant success.

Over time, de GRISOGONO watches have greatly advanced as for their technical and innovative features. The initial timepiece was followed by the deliciously designed Instrumentino watch for ladies.

Then, the company launched the more complicated Instrumento Doppio, which was followed by the Instrumento Doppio Tre. Both models featured another watch face and revealed another timing aspect.

At present day the de GRISOGONO Company annually designs, conceives, assembles and then strictly controls through every production stage about 5,000 watches. In future, de GRISOGONO also plans to manufacture some of the components for its watches and create after-sales facilities for its customers. By that time, the annual production is planned to have increased by 10,000 watches.

The latest de GRISOGONO timekeeping creation, the Instrumento Novantatre, is the first calendar watch to join the watch collections of the brand. The timepiece is distinguished by a touch of design genius, signature to Fawaz Gruosi.

The Instrumento Novantatre watch sports a large date placed at 12 o'clock, while its digital month readout is found at 8 o'clock. The watch displays small seconds on an unusually positioned sub-dial at 5 o'clock.

The case of the Instrumento Novantatre measures 47.2 x 40 mm. The black dial of the watch is decorated with a radiating guilloche pattern. It catches attention due to two oversized indices 9 and 3.

In the heart of the de GRISOGONO watch there beats a self-winding mechanical movement. It automatically switches between months with 30 and 31 days. Through a sapphire crystal case-back the watch's owner may rest one's eyes upon the blackened movement, an original feature of the brand. The watch is secured to the wrist with an alligator or galuchat strap linked to articulated lugs to provide a comfortable fit, one more de GRISOGONO innovation.
