The timepiecedial, revealing the movement, demonstrates a relay team of six retrograde seconds hands. For indicating the sector with the moving hand, the middle of its chamfered and satin-finished bridge has a special small window that turns red. When the hand finishes its 10-second cycle, it "passes on the baton" to the hand in the next sector and comes back to its initial position. This way the hands continuously pass on the “baton”.
The date is displayed via a small window at 6 o’clock.
With the GrandCliff TNT Royal Retro, Pierre DeRoch has also introduced another technical innovation: a single central bridge for 12 pivots.
The big number of hands implies the need for more energy. Enough energy is supplied by the extra-large 22K pink gold oscillating weight that is carefully designed, pierced, engraved and colored. The cover stamped with the Pierre DeRoch seal adds a final touch of perfection.
As Watches.InfoNIAC.com found out, the movement has been subjected to more than a year of tests to guarantee its technical excellence and reliability.
The case of the Pierre DeRoche GrandCliff TNT Royal Retro watch, 47.5 mm in diameter, catches the glance by its powerful design. It is built in several parts and demonstrates a smart combination of different materials. It has a black PVD titanium middle part, a steel bezel, and pink gold horns, crown-shield and crown.
The version of the watch with pink gold is available in a limited number of 21 pieces. The version of the watch with a case in titanium and steel is limited to 201 pieces.
The Pierre DeRoche GrandCliff TNT Royal Retro watch is coupled with a crocodile strap fitted with 18 K pink gold safety folding clasp.
