Oct 22, 2008
The Graham Big Silverstone Stowe Racing is an impressively designed watch, with the name suggested by the Stowe Corner, a right-angled sharp turn in the Silverstone Circuit. The timepiece, aimed to win the hearts of passionate drivers, features a 48-mm-in-diameter high-grade stainless steel case. It is available in a limited number of just 500 pieces.

Every detail of the Graham Big Silverstone Stowe Racing watch makes one feel the exciting atmosphere of speed and adrenaline.

The case of the watch is fitted with a black concave carbon fibre bezel, creating a distinctive contrast with a turquoise blue ring with 24-hour graduation for indicating a second time zone.

The crown is provided with an extra hexagonal bolt for improved security. The oval pushers for the chronograph controls feature the sure-grip surface inspired by the pedals of a racing car. The 'flyback mechanism,' incorporated into it, is a smart device that allows the watch's wearer to reset the chronograph to zero with no need to stop it. As soon as the flyback pusher is released, the seconds hand will restart at once from zero. The device is meant to be used for recording the times of a row of consecutive events.

The creators of the watch opted for carbon fiber to produce the dial from. The material is widely used in the field of aviation and motor sports for such advantageous characteristics as remarkable lightness with absolute mechanical stiffness. Moreover, its textile character of carbon fiber makes it great for applying in watchmaking from the aesthetic point of view.

To come up with greater rigidity and strength, the ultra-thin carbon fibrer are woven into a fabric and then laminated with a transparent plastic resin. After the material gets dry, it become very stiff, lightweight and temperature-changes resistant.

The dial of the watch catches the glance by its contrasting colors. Orange and turquoise blue have been used for the Arabic numerals and the rims of the minute counter and the second time zone.
The minute and hour hands feature their own signature design to stand apart from the chronograph functions distinguished by their red tips. The long GMT hand that passes along the outer rim of the watch's dial is perfectly seen due to its triangular bright yellow tip. The watch's wearer can adjust the GMT hand in one-hour steps independently from the hour hand.

The flange of the Graham watch is equipped with a tachymeter scale to be used for measuring speeds.

You will notice a double-disc large date window at 6 o'clock. The watch accommodates the automatic calibre G1721 movement providing all the functions mentioned above, as well as a 42-hour power-reserve.

The steel case back of the Graham Big Silverstone Stowe Racing watch is secured by eight screws. The case back reveals the insignia of the Royal Marine Crown coat of arms. The timepiece boasts 100-meter water resistance.

The Graham watch is coupled with a hypoallergenic rubber strap with orange inset the motif of which reminds a racing-car tire tread or a leather strap featuring ecru or orange stitching.
