Recognizing the attraction of the ww.tc,
Girard-Perregaux has manufactured an exceptional interpretation intended for the
Only Watch event to be held in September. This charity auction of exclusive timepieces will take place in Monaco under the auspices of Prince Albert II. All funds realized from the sale will go to Monegasque Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Manufactured from high-tech black ceramic with an inner core made of titanium, the case of the

This case, stealthy and scratch-resistant, coordinates well with rubber accents on chronograph pushers and a winding crown.
The sapphire crystal, whose features include an elegant domed profile, is joined seamlessly to the domed bezel, exposing durable scratch-resistant protection to the special and colorful ww.tc dials.
To create a handsome and sporty contrast, the
chronograph counters are silvered against a black background. Both hour markers and hands feature luminous coatings for robust low-light visibility.
Day and night hours are accurately demarcated on the rotating 24-hour ring by means of glaring red for the hours from 6:00 to 18:00.

With the time set and the appropriate city oriented at 12 o'clock, the wearer of this Girard-Perregaux watch can read the times around the world.
The
chronograph function with its efficient flyback mechanism permits the wearer to record successive intervals of elapsed time without stopping and resetting afterwards the central chronograph hand.

Girard-Perregaux introduces the
Laureato Bol d’Or Mirabaud chronograph 2009 to mark the
71st edition of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud.
As a sponsor of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud for the third year, Girard-Perregaux has once again launched a timepiece on the occasion of the biggest inland regatta in Europe.
The Laureato Bol d’Or Mirabaud chronograph stands out due to the brand's up to date approach.
While manufacturing this watch, Girard-Perregaux emphasizes again that fine watchmaking and competition sailing share the similar values – high professionalism, great patience and passion are among them.
The Girard-Perregaux Product Creation and Development department has paid a thorough attention to the development of the
Laureato. Perfectly designed through the involvement of
Luigi Macaluso, President of the watchmaking manufacture, the project is passed over to the company's Process engineering and R&D.
Then, after all the aspects of the concept properly tested, the timepiece is eventually produced and in-house assembled.
Ideal for nautical activities, the Laureato’s bezel, crown and pushers are decorated with rubber. Its titanium-forged case boasts corrosion resistance every sailor is familiar with.
The chronograph in question can be successfully used in the course of competition. Its
flyback function provides accurate different racing time readings.
Besides, the
chronograph's central hand happens to be very useful for getting an exact countdown for the extremely important ten minutes before the start of regattas.
This very time is clearly demonstrated in the zone between 12 and 2 o'clock - the first five minutes highlighted in blue and the following pre-start phase five minutes highlighted in red.
So, some of the competitors will become soon happy owners of the thirty pieces released especially for the event.

The
R&D 01 stands out due to the
unique position of its push-pieces it has on the left side. This facilitates operating the functions of the chronograph for racing drivers.
In the meantime, the
crown, having a smooth and curved incorporated crown-shield, is featured at 4 o’clock to make the timepiece really user-friendly.
The smooth, rounded
crown-guard with its form suggested by the air intake of a competition car, serves as a protector for both the date corrector and the crown. The manufactured movement can be seen through the case-back made of sapphire crystal. The case-back is fastened with six Imbus screws – the similar ones are used in the competition car construction.
The
Girard-Perregaux model is manufactured according to the customer’s request in a black PVD steel limited edition in cooperation with
Laurent Picciotto, a true friend of Girard-Perregaux and a watch enthusiast.
