Girard-Perregaux Cabinet de Curiosites Watch - Style Based on Contrasts

Oct 21, 2011
The house of Girard-Perregaux has unveiled its new Cabinet de Curiosites world time chronograph watch, designed in the contrast-based style.

Mysterious due to its top smoked sapphire glass, the new Girard-Perregaux watch employs a 43.00mm white ceramic case. It is offset by a bezel in steel and white ceramic. Both crowns and push-pieces are clothed in black rubber. The case-back, made of black DLC-coated titanium, is secured by 6 screws and equipped with a tinted sapphire glass. The water-resistance of the model is assured down to 10 atm.

The case is complimented by a white dial. Equipped with contrasting black Arabic numerals, it tells central hours and minutes. The small seconds tick away in a counter at 3 oclock.

The fly-back chronograph features are presented through a 30-minute sub-dial at 9 oclock, a 12-hour counter at 6 oclock as well as a central seconds hand, dressed in red. The hands of the counters are performed in the same color. The date indication is arranged in an aperture between 1 and 2 oclock. Moreover, the display features world time zones with a day/night indicator.

The new Girard-Perregaux Cabinet de Curiosites watch is powered by a manufactory-made self-winding mechanical GP03387 movement. Paved with 63 jewels, it runs at the rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a 46-hour power reserve.

The final touch is provided by a black rubber strap. It joins to a folding clasp, done in black DLC-coated titanium. The new Girard-Perregaux watch is offered in a limited edition of 5 pieces.
