The horological marvel provides the functions of jumping hours, retrograde minutes, central seconds as well as that of retrograde date.
Giving life to the functions is a self-winding movement - GG 1004 calibre on a GP3100 personalized base. This mechanism incorporates an additional Gerald Genta bi-retrograde plate. It also houses an 18K gold rotor with concentric circular graining and engraved logo. Moreover, the caliber is graced with “Potter” finish, which adds to its unique allure. Paved with 27 rubies, the movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 45-hour power reserve.
The entire mechanism is enclosed in a flared case, embellished with a double row of titanium beads. It is fitted with a sand-blasted bronze bezel and bronze and titanium beaded crown. On its dial side, the case is armed with a convex anti-glare sapphire crystal. The back side of the watch features the same glass, secured with 8 pentagonal screws. The Gerald Genta watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters.
The hollowed multi-layer dial reveals a sandblasted finish as well as a galvanic-colored base, adorned with a raised horizontal motif. The dial is completed with hour, minute and date numerals, designed in the Art Deco style.
The display also includes the jumping hours aperture, located at 12 o’clock. It is kept company by the retrograde minute segment, which can be found in the upper part of the dial between 9 and 3 o’clock. The retrograde date segment, meanwhile, is positioned in the lower part of the dial between 5 and 7 o’clock.
The Gerald Genta Gefica Safari watch is accompanied by a hand-sewn alligator leather strap, enhanced with a titanium triple folding clasp.
A perfect union of shapes, materials and colors, the Gerald Genta watch invites watch lovers to the aesthetic and sensual world of African art.
