Laurent Ferrier has proudly introduced its Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Balance Spring watch into a competitive world of horology.
The timepiece stands out due its timeless design, inspired by great chronometers of the 19th century. The new Laurent Ferrier watch is set in a yellow gold case. Featuring soft lines, it will gently hug a wrist of its sophisticated wearer.
The case is 9.5 mm thick and measures 41 mm in diameter. It proudly reveals a boule-shaped winding crown, located at 3 o’clock.
The case also demonstrates a lot of handcraft, which embodies a rare set of skills, governed by time, precision and patience. The model is 30-meter water-resistant.
The case of the new Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Balance Spring watch is enhanced by a noble dial, performed in white enamel.
It is completed with thin and elongated Roman numerals, dressed in black. Traveling over them are fragile hour and minutes hands, also black. The seconds are indicated in a counter at 6 o’clock. This sub-dial is equipped with markers in tasteful red and a centralized hand in black.
The functions mentioned are driven by a hand-wound mechanical movement. Connected to this mechanism is a tourbillon, fitted with an escapement, never used before in such construction. It reveals two inversed balance springs, which allow the movement to average out the negative influence of the earth gravity by keeping the balance centre on its axis.
Created in the spirit of respect for the best watchmaking traditions, the tourbillon rotating cage can be admired through the sapphire case-back. Boasting Haute Horlogerie finish, the movement oscillates at 21,600 variations per hour and provides an 80-hour power reserve.
The new Laurent Ferrier watch is accompanied by a brown alligator leather strap.
